
Tony Solway
Chairman
Tony joined as Chairman of IMS in 2010 and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services sector. As well as his Chairmanship of IMS Group, he provides a strategic advice and direction to a number of stock broking and investment companies. He is also a Board member of the Tax Incentivised Savings Association.
Until early 2008, Tony was responsible for the co-ordination of BNP Paribas' UK wealth management businesses and was a member of both the UK Executive Committee and Holding Company Board. In this capacity, he was responsible for the development and oversight of four asset management businesses, a private bank, insurance activities, commercial real estate and the securities services business, where he was UK CEO.
Tony came to BNP Paribas via its the acquisition of Cogent in 2002, a first-mover financial services outsourcing business that Tony founded during his tenure at Henderson Global Investors PLC, where he was Group Administration Director until 1998 responsible for global operations and technology. His achievements have been widely recognised by the Press and various industry bodies.
He started his career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in 1980, having graduated with honours from Trinity College, Cambridge. Over the years he has served on various committees of the London Stock Exchange and the Investment Managers Association. Tony is a Fellow of the Chartered Investment and Securities Institute, and holds the IoD Certificate in Company Direction.
